Dead End Adventures Revealed
Faye would move from the comforting arms of her lover reluctantly, grabbing her coat from the couch with a careful and well practiced grace, leaving her shoes beside the couch she moved across the empty building filled only with the idle noises of the sleeping people within it. Creeping to the concrete steps of the stairs she moved up a floor, going into one of the bare stone rooms and goes in closing a door behind her, sits against a wall, pulling out her notepad from her coat pocket as she became so accustomed to on a daily basis, her skilled fingers skipping over pages with expertise to a blank spot in it. Pulling a pen from another pocket she took a deep breath and stared to the blank pages. "Goodness.. Such an adventure you have had Faye.. So many thoughts to express and get out before you go bloody mad.." her voice whispered out echoing only lightly in the thick concrete walls of the room, she smiled to herself clicking the pen a few times wracking her brain thinking as where to start. She began to write a few words, but then scribbled them out and sighed, taking another deep breath to clear her head, taking the pen she pressed the point to paper and let the thoughts begin to flow out.
She scrawls atop the top of the page for reference "Dead End - Day 1" then moves and begins, to quickly fill the pages with her story.
'It was a few weeks back.. A month I would about guess that I came here to unknowingly begin this new life, new work, new family. One would never of guessed a lone wanderer such as me would have unusual fate at her side as always. To flee under the shadows of night in disguise from your old home, only choosing a random bus. At the end of the line I thought it had brought me straight to hell itself. Stepping off onto desolate and deserted streets, looking out over the city ahead I would of guessed it to of been in one of the movies of post apocalyptic in its rugish appearance. But having no reason or way to turn back, I continued as always and just kept moving forward, keeping knowingly to the sidewalks (never walk in the middle of unknown streets). I crossed the bridge over some river.. or draining source.. with the color of the water I wasn't sure which, the sun seemingly trap behind the dark clouds in this place it cast its shadows out onto the sea that lapped at the near-by shores. I passed an abandoned and stripped vehicle, pausing before the building labeled with a flickering sign 'Motel', the people and sounds coming from the establishment making me heavily debate a change of name of it.. But I pushed that from my mind looking about the streets for anything at all to catch my attention. I spotted a few souls wandering about, usually just passing by or in the distance, one or two paused to give a long stare or laugh to my attire, finding amusement with my cloak and hooded self. It did not take me long to be ready to shed blood on this place I hadn't even found the name of as the comments of 'costume party' continued to arise, and even a few nicknames of 'vigilante' beginning to spread to rumor before I had even been there for long (leather armor isn't quite in style I guess?).
There was a short time that passed, I stuck near the motel, it having shadows to hide in and a abandon couch near-by I had spotted for that night if I found no other place to rest in the alien town. I wandered down the cracked sidewalks, looking to the unevenly paved and pothole filled road looking to the few gazes tossed in my direction, but learning to quickly ignore such. My gaze fell to the warehouse looking building down the hill, hearing a good bit of noise seeming to come from within. my gaze fell upon the large sign plastered across the side of the outside wall, a fairly creepy looking clown with the name "Mad Pierrot MC" listed upon it, not knowing it at the time just assumed it a bar or club at the time and turned my attention to a man moving closer near to me.
From experience I quickly noted the features of this man should be become trouble, I found him intriguing, but could not quite put my finger on it.. He was about my height I would sat, not a large man by any means, but he looked fit, his black short sleeve shirt and khakis showing that clearly. There was a cocky smirk upon his lips, his eyes hidden behind his black shades. Even without words being spoken of such, I felt a challenge in such a way that he looked upon me. He paused and spoke a short while with me before he mentioned he had to be going, but was kind enough to offer me a drink next we met, it lightened my spirits a bit, even if he was a stranger.. At least not everyone in the town thought to harass me.. And free drink was always welcome to a poor lone traveler, especially after a long day. I felt myself a bit lonely again being left standing alone on the empty streets, i sighed to myself, gathering back my wall over my emotions knowing a loner as myself could not afford to worry about that yet being in the state I was and seeing the roughness of the town, letting someone find me soft was the last thing I needed. I turned, looking up to the hill behind me, the crooked and broken road leading to a small bridge over a drainage canal. It placed me at a 3 way fork looking along the streets, to my right was clearly a road that lead in front of the hospital, Straight ahead a straight path, though heavily shadowed by the looming building, the newspaper building on the left, the hospital on the right. I looked down to my left to the road running in front of the news building. I shrugged and just started walking, eyes moving to take in what details I could deciding to learn what i could of this new place. I knew I had little money so the need for a job being at the top of my list of things. My thoughts were interupted as I noticed movement ahead up the street, out of habit I froze where I stood and just watched the figure. he was on a bike hearing a hoodie so he was shadowed to me. I pretended to not notice him as he finally made he move and drove closer to me, having turned about to work way back how I had started. He rode up parralel to me calling over to me "Hey you!", a light shiver ran through me, my heart racing, my eyes gazed out from behind the mask I wore, a leath kerchip of sorts that ran from ear to ear only leaving my eyes and forehead to be seen. I was able to hide my paniced expression from the man, he looked closer to a kid, but was respectful as I could be and began to speak to him. As with the other ones he stared at me strangly, making notice of my garb. I ignored his foolish comments, but made note of his eyes that seemed to be trying to stare through my clothing, his face growing frustrated it seemed that he could not make a easy reading of his potential target. He had dismounted his bike and stood only a foot or two from me, my hands still at my sides, fingers flexing as i got ready to try and down him, but he proptly gave up at the game, returning to his bike he wished me a good day and sped away. I stood for some time staring after the direction he had rode, weary for any return. Seeing none, the adrinline began to fade, leaving me feeling quite drained after the long day. Deciding enough thrill for one day, I returned back along my pathway i had taken from the motel.
I paused in front of the motel gazing down the warehouse again thinking to maybe try to see if I could find that man and get a drink.. But seeing the place quiet empty, I began to feel the hour and creeper back slowly to the motel, the bottom floor having a carport and overhang heavily shadowed. I moved to the shadows around a corner not far from a dumpster.. it was unused, no worry I didn't go near it.. It helped to block view of me. I was thankful then of my heavy cloak and clothing as I curled up upon the asfault and concrete using the wall for support, I curled my knees to my chest so to be able and keep a good lookout and be ready for trouble (after so many years I have learned that trouble is my #1 stalker.. it follows me everywhere..). My body weary from my stresses and travel I finally rested there in the shadows of Dead End.
