A world gone mad.. Or a Saturday in De.
Kay sits perched on the kitchen counter, papers, her laptop, cups and pencils surround her, lit only by the light of the laptop. Not too far away a large mechanical bird lay on its side, electrical guts spilling from the broken thing. The room is silent for a long while, lost in thought Kay stares into space and then leans over the keys and begins to type.
The world's gone mad..
Marlene's Dead. People are spying on me. Us?
Her body was a bizzare mess of bruises and blood.. grey and cold she didn't look like Marlene anymore. She wasn't in there. Who did it? Why ?
The bird told me she'd betrayed me. How could she.. why? So many questions.. so few answers.
An insect told me.. everyone I care about is in danger. I'm doing all I can to hold things together. To protect them.. but I'm scared I'm gonna fail.

The coffee house closed up tight, a single light glowed in the night. Kay, curled up with her shiney new laptop on the new soft stared at the blinking cursor. A million thoughts swirled through her head. A billion things she could say.. but she couldn't force herself to begin. She wanted to write about recent days and all the wonderful things that had happened. All the changes both personal and professional.. but the past 8 hours at the hands of the maddest man in the world had chased all the happy thoughts from her mind. She needed her friends. She needed life to feel normal once again. She needed to see that smile.. it would help. She knew it would.. it had to. Taking a deep breath, her fingers began to move across the keys for a brief moment and then she closed the laptop, stepped out the back door of the coffee house and trudged up to her flat. Fully dressed she crawled into bed, cradled her teddy bear and sobbed herself to sleep. Tomorrow had to be better.
The untitled blog simply read:
Worst. Day. Ever.

Seasons change
Kay sits at the window seat in the early early morning hours, alternating between staring out into the night and tapping softly on her spiff new laptop.. as of yet unpaid for. She wasn't certain what price JK would end up coaxing out of her but he was fairly certain it would be a hefty one, though tonight.. even that small niggling worry couldn't get her down. For a moment her eyes rise to the ceiling of the coffee house, Her Coffee House!!!, as if she could see beyond, through her tidy lil flat above and then beyond that.. to the stars in the sky and then looks down, drawn in by the soft glow of electric sex, and began to type.
Seasons Change, Times Change, Places Change..
And so too DE is changing. Much loved and respected people are moving up and on, dear friends sailing from our lives like ships in the night leaving those of us they pass a little richer, a little wiser, and perhaps a few new nicks and scrapes along our hull where the waters got shallow. But we sail on DE. Keep moving.. ever forward.

Good Night DE
Kay leans agasint the coffee house's door frame looking over the silent dark room, smelling of rich coffee, pastries and underneath something thicker, darker.. something she cant quite put her finger on. Dipping fingers into her pocket she pulls out the cellphone and begins tapping in the latest blog entry.
Just finished the mornings baking.. I'm tired and sweaty, but it was worth it. The bakery case is filled and I even made a little something special for my favorite couple. Now if only we could pry them out of their apartment!
Things are changing all over DE. No, I dont just mean the remodel.. but also the faces. More people have gone missing, and a few old face I hadn't seen in a while popped up. Its amazing how silent the streets have become lately, though every time I say that.. I look out into the streets twenty minutes later and they're teeming with strange faces, people peering in the windows and trying to pick the shop's locks. I just chased yet another lock picker away.. about ten mins ago.

The people that you meet..
Perched on the coffee house counter, leg tucked under her attention on her phone Kay taps out her blog between customers. Her usual smile hidden behind bruises, the forced one in its place stretches the split lip uncomfrotably, her eyes hidden beneath an oversized hat.
The People That You Meet
Ever think about the people that you pass day to day? The impact they have on your life? How a simple kindness can change thier day or even your own. The way that simply offering some food and coffee to a "junkie" can end up saving her life and turning things around for her. How offering to show someone where they can rent an apartment cause they're new in town can leave you face down in a pool of your own blood and other things? The good with the bad.. right?
